Fly to the show

  • Visitors wishing to arrive at Helitech International by helicopter can do so, free of charge, at Damyns Hall Aerodrome.  Visitors will not be able to fly directly into ExCeL London.

    A free, on demand car service will be operated for visitors arriving and departing Damyns Hall, providing advanced notice of arrival/departures times are provided. The ‘On Demand’ service will operate between 9am and 6pm on the 6th-8th October 2015.

  • Please be conversant with the following information:

    • Runways:  Damyns Hall Aerodrome can accommodate all types of fixed and rotary winged aircraft.  There is one main grass runway oriented 03/21 which is approximately 650 metres in length.
    • Location:
       - Coordinates 51 31 43 N 000 14 44 E
       - ICAO Code EGML
       - Runway 21 Left hand circuit
       - Runway 03 Right hand circuit
       - Circuit Height 1000FT. QFE
       - QFE Elevation 56FT ASL
    •  Air Ground Radio: The Aerodrome has an Air Ground Radio Service on “Hornchurch Radio” 119.550.   Please broadcast and listen out on this frequency.  If no answer make blind calls to Hornchurch Traffic.
    •  Approach: All traffic should avoid flying over the local conurbations and approach by the clear corridors to the North East and South of the Aerodrome.  Be aware that Damyns Hall Aerodrome is close to London City Airport so you are unable to approach from the West.  There is a 2,500ft limit as London TMA is overhead.  Please ensure you have the latest current up to date charts and check these for airspace restrictions
    • Helipad: Our helipad is located to the bottom of runway 03/21
    • Joining Instructions:  Join overhead at 1,400ft (QNH) to avoid entering London City Airport airspace.  Please note revised circuit rules for 03/21
    • Noise Abatement: please read our noise abatement page on our website (http://www.damynshall.co.uk/noise.html
    • VRP: On approaching Damyns Hall, please report passing abeam Brentwood, when entering by the North East corridor and passing abeam the QF2 Bridge, when entering the Southern corridor
    • NOTAMS: Visit the National Air Traffic Services (http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php.html) website for notices to airmen.  This site will require you to set up a username and password prior to being able to use it.  Damyns Hall Aerodrome information can be located using the following details :- ICAO Code – EGML
