Romanian HEMS now boasts six EC135s

21 Jun 2012

The Romanian Ministry of Health will take delivery of a further two EC135 helicopters by the end of 2012 as part of a framework contract signed for six EC135s.

The helicopter acquisition is part of a government programme to develop its medical evacuation and support capabilities, building on two previously-ordered EC135s owned by Ministry of Health, together with two EC135s owned by the Ministry of Administration and Interior (MAI). All four helicopters are operated by the MAI’s General Inspectorate of Aviation.  The EMS-equipped aircraft include emergency medical kits sourced from Austria’s Air Ambulance Technology.
