Scottish Air Ambulance Contracts Gama / Bond Partnership for another Seven Years

21 Jun 2012

Gama Aviation, in partnership with Bond Air Services, has been awarded a new seven year contract valued at £120 million by the Scottish Air Ambulance Service to provide rotary and fixed-wing air ambulance services for Scotland. This builds on a 16 year partnership between the organisations.

Bond will continue to use the current Eurocopter EC135T2i helicopters on an interim basis until September 2014, when it will introduce two new medically-equipped Eurocopter EC145T2 helicopters to replace the EC135s.  The EC145T2s will provide improved range and endurance, as well as allowing larger payloads and increased cabin space. Gama Aviation will continue to operate the two existing King Air 200c fixed-wing aircraft based in Aberdeen and Glasgow.
